After nearly two decades of planning, Riverside City College opened its new Business, Law and Computer Information Systems (BLCIS) Building in 2024. Designed by 19six Architects, the project transformed a 1960s science facility into a modern, sustainable, and technology-rich academic hub.

The 35,000-square-foot facility features flexible classrooms, advanced computer labs, a mock courtroom, and collaborative study areas to support students in business, law, and cyber defense programs. A new addition connects two existing buildings, establishing a welcoming main entry with circulation space, meeting rooms, and a large multi-purpose area.

Acentech provided building acoustics consulting to ensure learning environments where speaking and listening is easy and free of noise disturbance. Our scope included room acoustics recommendations for diverse teaching and study spaces; sound isolation between classrooms, labs, and offices; careful selection of doors and seals to limit unwanted sound intrusion; and noise and vibration control for mechanical systems.

Targeting LEED Silver certification, the BLCIS Building represents a major investment in the college’s campus and its students—marking a milestone in Riverside City College’s ongoing commitment to innovation and student success.
