Acentech recorded the new Guinness World Record for the loudest clap! Steven Wallace clapped a peak measurement of 117 dBA, breaking the previous world record of 113 dBA. The Acentech team (managed by Tyler Tracy, witnessed by Ethan Casavant, Ben Davenny, and oversight by Principal Michael Bahtiarian) performed the measurement in our 3D Listening space.
In an email to his Acentech cohorts, Steven wrote: “I can’t thank you enough! I’ve achieved exactly what I wanted: to get the ultimate respect from my nieces, nephews, and hopefully my kids one day!”
We were thrilled to help. Congratulations Steven!

"I enjoy my work in this field because it requires you to know a little about nearly everything — including people."
"I originally heard about Acentech from a current employee, and applied due to my interest in consulting. During my interview, I loved how friendly and welcoming the atmosphere was, and how much each employee cared about their work. It was somewhere I knew I’d be proud to begin my career."
Healthcare Market Leader
“I joined Acentech after receiving my Mechanical Engineering master’s degree from Boston University. In my consulting role, I thrive on the challenges we see in our projects, and enjoy learning about a client’s unique acoustical requirements and helping them design a space to meet their needs.”
“I enjoy working on projects that help others. I try to see how my daily efforts will influence people down the road. Day to day, I solve problems ranging from interior room acoustics in concert halls and lecture spaces, to sound isolation between hospital exam rooms and office spaces, to environmental noise concerns from manufacturing plants and airport traffic. Each project offers unique opportunities to touch the lives of many in an invisible way.”
