Front Burner (FB) Society recently opened a new location for its wine country-inspired restaurant, Sixty Vines™, at 2200 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C.’s vibrant Foggy Bottom neighborhood. Designed by Zebra Worldwide, the venue offers an inspired dining experience with an emphasis on communal connection and modern elegance.

The interior features a prominent main bar and two beam-structured atria, each outfitted with long communal tables adjacent to the general dining area. A curated music playlist is broadcast throughout the space to complement the guest experience. The restaurant also includes private dining rooms equipped with integrated televisions to support presentations and private events.

Acentech served as the acoustics consultant during the design and construction phases of the project. Our primary objective was to ensure a comfortable acoustic environment by minimizing excessive reverberation and sound transfer between dining areas, and preventing the escalation of ambient noise levels due to guest conversation.

To achieve this, Acentech conducted a detailed analysis of the restaurant’s geometry and reviewed architectural finishes. We developed tailored recommendations for acoustic treatments, specifying vendor, model, and precise areas of application for sound-absorbing materials. These interventions were strategically implemented across key spaces to improve speech intelligibility, reduce noise buildup, minimize sound transfer between dining areas, and maintain the desired ambiance.

This collaboration supported the creation of a space where design, function, and sound harmonize—enhancing the overall dining experience for guests.
