Andy Carballeira is a Principal at Acentech with over 20 years of consulting experience in room acoustics, noise and vibration control, and electro-acoustic systems. His background in music and audio engineering complements his expertise in critical listening, spatial audio, and applied research and experimental design. He is a skilled listener and engaging communicator with a passion for challenging problems and for cultivating a thoughtful, collaborative workplace. As a Principal, Andy advises clients through all phases of project delivery, from early planning and design through construction and commissioning. His project portfolio spans broadcast and recording facilities, performing arts venues, institutional and educational facilities, commercial offices, and residential buildings.
In his role as Director of Innovation, Andy stewards firmwide R&D initiatives that foster cross-disciplinary collaboration and the development and translation of new ideas, tools, and services across acoustics, technology, and building performance. He shares his expertise as a mentor, a speaker at national conferences, and as a contributor to The Lab @ Acentech.
Andy also serves as Acentech’s Sound Power Measurements service leader, responsible for marketing strategy, client development, and industry thought leadership.

When not working, Andy might be found hugging his family, pulling up ugly carrots, crashing a CNC plasma cutter, or runout over sketchy trad gear.
