Acentech conducts applied research and development to advance the science of acoustics, vibration, and audiovisual design. Our team collaborates with universities, government agencies, and industry partners to develop new methods, standards, and tools that improve building and product performance. From field studies and lab testing, to software development and peer-reviewed publications, our R&D work expands knowledge in acoustics and related fields while directly informing the consulting services we provide to clients worldwide.
Our team of acousticians, engineers, and scientists partners with universities, government agencies, and private industry to conduct applied and fundamental research. We develop new tools, refine testing methods, and publish findings that inform design standards and improve the built environment. We build mockups and design experiments internally, and in collaboration with clients and partners. We also have an internal grant program to incubate cutting-edge ideas, and support the Acentech teams that bring them to life.
From advancing community noise studies to creating interactive auralization tools like 3DListening®, Acentech’s R&D efforts extend beyond immediate project needs — shaping best practices that benefit the entire field.
