James Viglas is a Consultant in our Noise and Vibration group. He contributes to a variety of projects across the industrial, commercial, educational, and energy sectors. He conducts noise and vibration measurements, performs data analysis, and develops findings for client reports. James’s background in music, academic research in structural and geotechnical engineering, and hands-on experience designing buildings as a structural engineer fuel his enthusiasm for his engineering consulting role at Acentech.

“I have always had a passion for music and engineering. My grandfather, who was a local audio engineer and technician in Greater Boston, used to say, “Your brain is your toolbox that you bring everywhere,” and I’ve been working on filling my toolbox with high quality tools ever since. My father and grandfather worked together, and I like to think that my role at Acentech as a noise and vibration consultant continues that lineage. Outside of the office, I enjoy playing music, running, hiking, and practicing acrobatics.”
