Ioana Pieleanu elected to BSA Board

BSA 2026 Board of Directors

Acentech is pleased to announce that Principal and Creative Director Ioana Pieleanu has been elected to the Boston Society for Architecture (BSA) Board of Directors for the 2026 term.

As an Affiliate Director, Ioana joins a distinguished group of Boston-area architects, designers, and researchers, including Katherine West Faulkner, FAIA, Principal and Founder of West Work; Kyle Barker, AIA, Principal of Primary Projects; Julian K. Phillips, Historical Architect for the National Park Service, North Atlantic Region; and 2026 BSA President Alison Nash, AIA, Senior Associate of Sustainability and Architect at Sasaki Associates.

“I believe architecture is evolving beyond brick and mortar to focus on the people who inhabit our buildings,” Ioana says. “My goal is to help nurture a culture at the BSA that is human-centered and inclusive, recognizing the value of embodied experience and multisensory perception. By supporting architects who embrace these principles, I hope to strengthen our community and advance a practice that places human experience at the heart of design.”

Ioana’s election to the BSA Board continues her long-standing engagement with the architecture and design community. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the BSA’s Cultural Facilities Network and is a member of the Acoustical Society of America. At Acentech, she leads firm-wide creative strategy and marketing initiatives, bringing her background as an acoustician, musician, and educator to foster innovation, elevate storytelling and design collaboration.
