Senior Consultant

“Acoustical consulting combines many topics I find to be interesting into one field: math, science, technology, music, architecture, design, construction... It took me a while to discover the field of architectural acoustics, but doing so has allowed the pursuit of many areas for which I have a passion.”

Jay Bliefnick actually stumbled upon Acentech in his acoustics textbooks while pursuing his undergraduate degree from Columbia College Chicago. He first joined Acentech as an intern during the summers of 2016 and 2017, and has now joined the architectural acoustics group as a consultant. Jay received his doctorate in Architectural Engineering at the University of Nebraska.

Jay consults on architectural acoustics design and noise issues for a multitude of project types, including healthcare, performing arts, education, multi-family residential, retail, and research facilities. He conducts acoustical measurements and analyses for new and existing construction projects and produces noise remediation recommendations for both interior and exterior environments.

Outdoor Enthusiast

When he is not working, you can find Jay traveling and exploring the outdoors with his German Shepherd, Orion. He is also an avid cyclist and golfer who enjoys any chance to get outside.
