“I love that engineering comes in many forms and that one mechanical engineer isn’t the same as another. I love being in the lab and being out in the field, and the fact that I don’t work on the same thing every day.”
Andy Mejia is a consultant in Acentech’s Noise and Vibration group, contributing to projects spanning industrial, commercial, educational, and renewable energy facilities. She conducts field measurements of sound and vibration, performs data analysis, and develops findings for client reports. Andy’s software and modeling toolbox includes MATLAB, Python, Ansys, AutoCAD and more. Her previous experience—including structural analysis and construction project engineering—reinforces her interest in vibration control and applied acoustics. Andy is fluent in Spanish, and conversant in French and German.
A Few of My Favorite Things
“My dad’s favorite saying, ‘I am a problem solver’ really helped me and gave me the confidence to study engineering. I enjoy caring for my birds (budgies and cockatiels), baking, and outdoor activities – when New England weather permits!”
