"People usually only think about what they’re hearing when they really like or dislike it, but our auditory environment is constantly affecting us. I enjoy knowing that my work is improving people’s quality of life, especially when they don’t realize it."

Alexander Roehl is an Associate Principal in Acentech’s Building Acoustics group, bringing over nine years of acoustical consulting experience to a wide range of project types. With a background in music and recording arts, he applies a critical and nuanced listening perspective to his work. Alex provides comprehensive project leadership, supporting all phases of delivery—from planning and facility assessment studies to design recommendations and construction documentation—across room shaping, sound isolation, and mechanical systems noise and vibration control. His portfolio includes educational, office, and research laboratory facilities, as well as commercial developments, performing arts venues, and professional recording studios.

Alex is bilingual, and grew up speaking German to his father and English to his mother. He also enjoys playing soccer, going hiking, and attending concerts when he is not at work.
