Ioana Pieleanu elected to BSA Board
Acentech is pleased to announce that Principal and Creative Director Ioana Pieleanu has been elected to the Boston Society for Architecture (BSA) Board of Directors for…

Last week, Acentech came together for two very special milestones! 🎉
We celebrated the incredible career of Jim Barnes, who is retiring after 52 years in noise and vibration consulting. Jim’s legacy spans from his early days at Bolt Beranek & Newman to Acentech, where he became like a “backbone” of our firm—respected for his upright professionalism, generous mentorship, and dedication to advancing our field. His send-off wouldn’t be complete without a sly nod to his favorite tool: the SA-77 narrowband analyzer, now officially marked “Property of Barnes…James Barnes.”
We also held our annual All Hands meeting—a full day dedicated to exploring our values, strengthening collaboration, and debating how and where to invest in technology to support our work ahead. Our events were both an energizing look to the future, and the perfect way to honor Jim’s remarkable past.
At Acentech, we are proud to be employee-owners with a shared voice in shaping what’s next. 👏
Oh, and did we mention? We’re hiring! Check out our current open positions!
