David Bateman is a leading technology consultant with over 20 years of experience in audiovisual and sound system design, and live stage production design and construction. He brings unique problem solving techniques and expertise in computer modeling, system integration, and client training and support throughout the technology implementation process. He consults on a variety of project types from performance spaces, higher education facilities and K-12 schools to corporate buildings and healthcare environments. His designs and installations vary from videoconference systems and distance learning facilities, to emergency operations centers for military installations and universities. David has a broad educational background in music and theatre design, and technical certifications in audiovisual systems and digital media design.
David enjoys sharing his expertise as a technology thought leader across the AE industry. He has taught numerous AIA certified courses on topics such as, Introduction to Loudspeaker Systems, AV Infrastructure Required to Make a Space a Theater, Intelligibility in Large Sports Venues, and Design and Planning for Sight and Sound Technologies.

I most look up to my father and my wife. My dad retired from GM but continues to work on unique engineering projects, and my wife’s ability to manage our family is awe-inspiring. You probably don’t know that I have an E license for coaching soccer and I have taken up climbing. In fact, when I’m not working, I’m either climbing with my son or watching my beautiful daughters at dance. Yoda says: “Do or do not. There is no try.”
