“What I love most about my job is seeing a completed space with seamlessly integrated technology or hearing a beautiful sound system in a theater. Coming from a musical and mix engineering background, I really enjoy hearing a new sound system in a space, and I appreciate the potential it holds to please future audiences.”
David Bateman’s experience in audiovisual and sound system design is rich with unique problem solving techniques and he excels at computer modeling, control system integration, and client training and support. Since joining Acentech, David has provided project leadership on a variety of project types including performance spaces, corporate buildings, higher education and K-12 schools, athletic, and healthcare facilities. Ranging in size from an eight-person videoconference suite to a 2,600-seat performing arts center, his designs and installations vary from videoconference systems and distance learning facilities, to emergency operations centers for military installations and universities.

DO OR DO NOT. THERE IS NO TRY.
I most look up to my father and my wife. My dad retired from GM but continues to work on unique engineering projects, and my wife’s ability to manage our family is awe-inspiring. You probably don’t know that I have an E license for coaching soccer and I have taken up climbing. In fact, when I’m not working, I’m either climbing with my son or watching my beautiful daughters at dance. Yoda says: “Do or do not. There is no try.”
