The Performing Arts Center is a vibrant presence on this historic campus. The Center includes a 450-seat proscenium theater with sophisticated rigging, lighting and audiovisual systems, and an orchestra pit. Acoustical features include convex shaped wood veneer sound-reflecting ceiling panels, sound-diffusing wall treatments, and a mechanical system engineered for very quiet operation. Audiovisual systems include speech reinforcement, theater effects, backstage communication, assistive listening, film and video projection. Acentech's involvement in this project extended from early programming and schematic design sessions all the way through post-occupancy assessments, including on-site acoustical testing and feedback sessions with users.
