 | Rein Pirn, Architectural Acoustics Trained as an architect, Rein turned to acoustics in the 1960s. As a practitioner-first with BBN, then with Acentech, his credits include a number of acoustically well-regarded auditoriums, among them Barrus Concert Hall in Rexburg, Idaho and Spivey Hall in Morrow, Georgia. His latest project, Sala Sinfonica Pablo Casals in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is due to open in 2009. To complement his work in acoustics, Rein was for almost two decades a violinist in the Indian Hill Chamber (later Symphony) Orchestra, one of the best known ensembles in the Greater Boston area. Rein holds a B. Arch. from the University of Natal, South Africa, and a M. Arch., Harvard Graduate School of Design.
