Ioana Pieleanu, Architectural Acoustics
Ioana has been exploring the many facets of sound as art and science for over 20 years, starting with piano and music theory studies at the early age of 7. As a consultant at Acentech, she specializes in room acoustics, sound isolation and mechanical systems noise and vibration control. Ioana spends much of her time working on projects that involve critical listening environments. Her recent work includes the Percussion Department renovation at Berklee College of Music, the Timken Recital Hall at Philips Academy in Andover, MA, and the Central Square Theater in Cambridge, MA. Ioana studied Music Theory and Education at the State University of Music in Bucharest, and holds a B.A. degree in sound engineering and music production major from Berklee College of Music, as well as a M.S. in Building Sciences -- Architectural Acoustics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
