The 27,000 SF addition of the Berlind Theatre to the McCarter Theatre Center gives patrons an intimate and unique theatrical experience. The auditorium features stepped stadium seating for 360 that allows excellent visibility of the stage from all seats. Our team went to great lengths to ensure that the Theatre would be able to hold events in the adjoining Matthews Theatre and the Berlind Stage simultaneously without any sound transferring from one space to the other.

I cannot remember when anyone has had an issue with either volume or clarity. It has an intimate feel, and has worked well for the theater we've done there. The mechanical systems are very quiet, and the sound isolation between the Berlind and Matthews Theatres has been successful: we've never limited what we do in one theater because of what we do in the other."
