![]() To better serve patients with cancer in the South Coast region of Massachusetts Southcoast Health System hired TRO Jung | Brannen to design a flagship outpatient cancer center in Fairhaven. This center will help patients and their families deal with the burden of cancer via coordinated services and support such as nutrition counseling, social services and even transportation. Acentech worked closely with the design team to provide architectural acoustics recommendations for the types of partitions in various spaces, finishes for the open infusion bay, and door gaskets for noise-sensitive spaces. We consulted on noise and vibration control measures for the building’s mechanical system including duct sizing, silencers, and vibration isolation mounts. Our acousticians visited the site to measure ambient noise levels so the Southcoast Health System could compare existing sound levels with the expected noise emissions from the new building. We performed ambient vibration measurements at the future locations of the CAT Scanner and linear accelerator. In addition we measured the sound emissions from the mobile MRI truck and predicted expected noise levels in the community. |
