Hybrid Power Project

Victorville Power Plant
Victorville, CA

Acentech provided the noise analysis in support of the City of Victorville Application for Certification (AFC) to construct and operate the Victorville 2 Hybrid Power Project (VV2 Project). The natural gas-fired combined-cycle generating equipment, integrated with solar thermal generating equipment, included two combustion turbine generators, two heat recovery steam generators, and one steam turbine generator. The solar thermal equipment will utilize arrays of parabolic collectors that heat a working fluid that is then used to generate steam. The VV2 Project has a nominal electrical output of 570 MW.

Commercial operation is planned for the summer of 2010.

In accordance with CEC power plant siting regulations, Acentech provided the acoustical section of the AFC addressing:

  • Description of compliance with applicable laws, ordinances, regulations and standards (LORS).
  • Description of the affected environment, assessment of Project impacts, and assessment of cumulative impacts.
  • Description of proposed mitigation measures to reduce/avoid identified potentially significant adverse impacts.
