![]() Florence Township Memorial High School is a comprehensive high school servicing approximately 500 students in grades nine through twelve. The school, which opened in September, 2006, offers a unique educational opportunity due to its small size and excellent student/teacher ratio. Along with its core instructional programs, the school offers instruction in art, business, computer science, music, information technology, and woodworking. This new climate controlled, totally air-conditioned facility is constructed on 55 acres in the rural area of Florence Township. A state-of-the-art auditorium enhances the students’ musical and drama productions. Acentech consulted on architectural acoustics and mechanical system noise and vibration control for the auditorium, gym, cafeteria, music room, band room practice rooms and classrooms. Acentech’s acoustics recommendations included acoustic baffles, as shown above, to absorb and control sound in the main entrance lobby area. Rooms for music, including practice rooms, were fi tted acoustical treatments, including acoustic masonry walls, to reduce reverberation time. |
