![]() Alter Hall, a new $80 million, 217,000 square foot, eight-story facility dramatically increases the existing space at Temple University for business education. Designed by world-renowned architect Michael Graves in collaboration with Burt Hill Kosar Rittelmann Associates, the new building features innovations in smart classroom design, one of the longest stock tickers in the United States, a trading room/business simulation center, and more. The Hall opened in April, 2009. Acentech designed audiovisual systems for the building, which includes 17 case study rooms, classrooms, capital markets rooms, conference rooms, two specialized computer labs, a 280-seat auditorium, a 4,200 square foot student lounge, and a 3,600 square foot graduate commons. Our designs covered a variety of systems -- digital signage, interactive kiosk, rich media, multi-screen display, wireless networking, video walls, and a sound system serving the atrium. The installed cost of the audiovisual systems in Alter Hall was $4.6 million. "The Fox School's new technology-rich building will facilitate teaching, learning and collaboration, and simulate a 21st century business environment," said John DeAngelo, Associate Dean, Temple University Fox School of Business and Management. "We are particularly proud of the ubiquity and transparency of the audiovisual systems installed. Acentech provided invaluable technological and audiovisual advice and expertise in planning and executing the design of our new state-of-the-art business school building." Acentech’s audiovisual designs for Alter Hall won the 2009 Pro AV Spotlight Award for Best Education AV Project. |
