When Microsoft sought to open an office in the Boston area they had several goals. Among them, to develop a research center where Microsoft staff could interact with the faculty and students of local universities and also benefit from the high tech talent in the area. Cambridge, Massachusetts, with nearby Harvard and MIT, satisfied these goals.

Acentech consulted to architects of record, TRO Jung | Brannen. We provided acoustical guidance to the vision of the design architect, SKB of Seattle. The office design called for unique materials and room shapes, so Acentech gave recommendations to produce appropriate acoustical conditions and sound isolation between spaces. We also consulted to reduce mechanical system noise with recommendations for equipment locations and duct treatments.

Our audiovisual systems design consultants designed the entry display system using a 103" plasma display.

The project obtained LEED Gold certification for its sustainable design.
