![]() When the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), one of the largest animal welfare and conservation charities in the world, approached designLAB Architects for a new US Headquarters, they wanted a space where the staff could work together in a single facility rather than multiple smaller buildings. The new facility needed to provide spaces for the staff to work as a team, while also allowing their pets to occupy the space with them. Acentech helped designLAB Architects and IFAW design large conference rooms, training rooms, meeting rooms, and private and open-plan offices. By working creatively, designLAB and Acentech were able to come up with custom sound-absorptive treatments, such as the ceiling clouds over the open-plan offices. Not only are the clouds sound absorptive, but also semi-translucent. In addition, Acentech helped IFAW in designing a TV studio within the facility, allowing IFAW to create in-house TV productions for press releases. The project obtained LEED Gold certification for its sustainable design. |
