![]() Harvard University completed a top-to-bottom renovation of the historic Hemenway Gym in 2005 that included a new audio visual system. The 28,000-square-foot renovation gutted the interior of the 1938 building, and reconfigured it as a five-story health club for students and faculty. Acentech designed a television distribution system to feed each piece of exercise equipment with a broadband cable television signal. We also designed a building-wide background music and paging system, as well as a sound system to support aerobics and other activities in the Multipurpose Room. We consulted on architectural acoustics, and mechanical noise and vibration control throughout the building, recommending finishes and guidance on the mechanical system design to control noise in the large, open areas. |
